This cake smash theme was so fun to put together! All of these fun cake smashes take place in my Sandy Utah portrait studio and parents get to come with the theme set up, cake ready and a matching outfit to boot. We went with a fishing net, treasure chest, star fish, seashells and a beautiful ballon arch full of color for this set up along with a mint green backdrop for the background, floating bubbles and of course twinkling lights.  

We started out with putting Oceana in a beautiful light purple dress for the alone portion of the session where we really focus on the set up and theme of the session. Then, we got her dressed in a cute mermaid outfit and a gold crown for the cake smash portion, we pulled out her cake and she dug right in! It was the cutest cake decorated in mint green, purple and white with chocolate mermaid tails and seashells! Her parents raved over the taste and said they enjoyed the untouched portion at home!

After the cake portion I will usually pull out my cream tub and fill it with some warm water so that parents can take home a clean baby instead of one covered in frosting! And why miss out on the fun when we can take pictures of that too? Obviously, the smiles did not stop there. Baby Oceana loved the splash portion and delighted us with the best faces.  

I had the most fun celebrating Oceana's birthday with her and can't wait to celebrate with more sweet families the rest of this year!
