Welcoming a newborn into your life is a moment filled with so many precious little details you’ll want to remember forever. As a Salt Lake City newborn photographer, my goal is to make your session not only stress-free but also a memorable experience for your family. Here’s a step-by-step guide on what to expect during your newborn session with me.
Before Your Session: Personalized Planning
It all starts with getting to know you! I’ll meet with you before your session to discuss your preferences for style, colors, and any special themes you'd like to incorporate. Whether you’re dreaming of soft neutrals, bold florals, or cozy props like baskets and blankets, I want your session to feel personal and unique to your family.
Studio Prep: Creating a Cozy, Safe Space for Baby
On the day of your session, I arrive at the studio an hour early to make sure everything is perfectly ready for you and your little one.
- Sanitation First: I sanitize all surfaces and gear to keep your baby and family healthy.
- Comfort in Mind: I turn up the heater (warm babies are happy babies!) and restock snacks and drinks for you to enjoy while you relax.
Set-Up for Success:
- I prepare all the sets we’ll use during the session, including sibling and parent poses.
- Fabric backdrops and props like baskets, bowls, or buckets are chosen and arranged based on your preferences.
When you arrive at the studio, I’ll guide you to a comfy spot on the couch in my shooting area. From here, you can relax while I gently wrap up your baby to begin the session. Some parents even take a nap—it’s like a mini break while my assistant and I take care of everything!
